1. Who we are
FanZone Map ("we", "us", "our") operates the website fanzonemap.org. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this site. Contact: [email protected].
2. Data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to run the service:
- Subscription & contact data — name, email, home city, and any message you send through the Saturday Bulletin signup or the contacts page.
- Venue submissions — the details you choose to share about a pub or fan zone, including optional photos and your own credit.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, language preference. Used in aggregated form to keep the site stable.
- Cookies and storage — a single first-party cookie to remember your consent, plus standard analytics identifiers.
3. How we use it
- To send the Saturday Bulletin and reply to your messages.
- To verify, edit and publish venue submissions.
- To keep the site secure and to measure traffic in aggregated form.
- To meet legal obligations (e.g. responding to a lawful request).
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not profile users for advertising.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use a single cookie to remember whether you've dismissed the consent banner. Analytics are anonymised and aggregated. You can disable cookies in your browser settings without losing access to the site.
5. Push notifications
If you opt in to push notifications, those are delivered through OneSignal. Their service stores a device-level identifier and your topic tags. You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser or device settings, and we will remove the corresponding record on request.
6. Sharing
We share data only with vetted processors that help us run the service (email delivery, push notifications, hosting, security). Each processor is bound by a data-processing agreement and is not allowed to use your data for any other purpose.
7. International transfers
Some of our processors are based outside your country. When data is transferred, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards in your jurisdiction (UK IDTA, US-EU Data Privacy Framework where applicable).
8. Retention
We keep subscription data while your subscription is active. After you unsubscribe, the record is deleted within 30 days, unless a legal obligation requires us to retain it longer. Venue submissions remain part of the editorial record unless the submitter requests removal.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data. See the Your Rights page for the full breakdown and how to exercise each one.
10. Children
FanZone Map is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone in that age group.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page and, where relevant, by email to subscribers. The "last updated" date is shown below.
12. Contact
To exercise any right, raise a concern or ask a question, write to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
